FAQ

AnnoBoost FAQ

Check whether AnnoBoost fits your images, what to prepare for the free trial, which Windows and GPU environment you need, and how plans, local data, and support work.

What AnnoBoost does

What does AnnoBoost support?

AnnoBoost is a Windows app for BBox annotation for object detection. It supports drawing boxes by hand, preparing and augmenting training data, training on your PC, creating auto-label candidates, reviewing them, and exporting YOLO, COCO, or VOC files.

What is not supported?

The current release does not support segmentation masks, pose or keypoints, tracking workflows, action recognition, safety decisions, or medical or legal decisions. It also does not create guaranteed ground-truth labels without human review.

Can I use auto-label output without review?

No. Auto labels are candidates, not confirmed labels. Before exporting, check for wrong classes, missed objects, duplicates, and incorrect box position or size, then make the necessary corrections.

What kind of image set is a good fit?

AnnoBoost is easiest to evaluate when the same types of objects appear repeatedly across many images and a person can review the candidates. Use a small, representative sample in the free trial to compare candidate correction with drawing every box from scratch.

What you need to get started

Which environment is required?

AnnoBoost Desktop runs on Windows. Training and auto-label candidate generation require a supported NVIDIA GPU. Manual BBox work and review do not use the training runtime, but check the current download page before installing.

What should I prepare before the free trial?

Prepare a Windows PC, a small set of representative images you are allowed to use, the class names you want to label, and enough free storage. To test training and auto-labeling, also confirm that the PC has an NVIDIA GPU. Account creation, sign-in, and access checks require an internet connection.

How can I check whether my GPU is suitable?

Check the NVIDIA GPU model, driver, and available VRAM on the PC, then run the setup diagnostics after installation. Required VRAM varies with image size and training settings, so there is no single value that fits every dataset. If you are unsure before starting the free trial, contact support with your Windows version and GPU details.

When is internet access required?

Internet access is needed to download the installer or ZIP, create and verify an account, sign in, refresh access, complete a purchase, manage billing, use private support, and send a diagnostic report when you choose to. Downloading the file alone does not activate the app; an active free trial or paid plan is required to use it.

What is the difference between the installer and ZIP?

The installer is recommended for most users because it sets up the app and registers normal Windows uninstallation. The ZIP version is an alternative that you extract and run without a standard installation or uninstall entry.

Free trial and your account

What should I test during the free trial?

Use a small set of your representative images and complete one full loop: draw a few accurate BBoxes, prepare training data, run a short training session, create candidates, review and correct them, and export the result. The key question is whether reviewing candidates is faster for your work than drawing every box from scratch.

How long is the free trial?

New free trials last 14 days from confirmation. A free trial that had already started before this change keeps its granted expiry. Each account can use the free trial once. No card is required, and it does not automatically become a paid plan.

Does signup start the free trial?

No. Signup only creates your account. After verifying your email, review the exact start and end time shown on the free-trial confirmation screen, then choose to start it.

Can I take the free trial after buying paid access?

No. If you purchase paid access before starting the free trial, that account cannot start it later. If you want to evaluate the app first, complete the free trial before purchasing a paid plan.

When can a free trial be extended?

An extension is considered only when AnnoBoost confirms a problem that prevents progress on a supported environment and version, and no practical workaround exists. The decision requires a private support request and records of the diagnostics, confirmed finding, and resolution time.

Plans, payments, and refunds

What paid plans are available?

The 14-day pass costs $15 once and does not renew automatically. The monthly plan costs $30 per month, and the annual plan costs $300 per year. The monthly and annual plans renew automatically until canceled.

What happens if I buy the 14-day pass during the free trial?

$15 is charged at purchase, and the 14-day pass starts after the free trial ends. If the free trial receives an eligible extension, the pass starts later so its paid days are preserved.

Can I cancel a 14-day pass before it starts?

You can request cancellation before the 14-day pass starts if it has never provided paid access. After the full refund is completed, the scheduled access is canceled.

What happens to the free trial when I buy a monthly or annual plan?

The monthly or annual plan starts as soon as payment succeeds. Any remaining free-trial time ends at that point.

How do I stop Monthly or Annual renewal?

You can cancel future renewals at any time. Access continues through the end of the period already paid for. Ordinary prorated refunds are not provided.

When are refunds available?

A refund may be available for a confirmed incorrect or duplicate charge, an eligible unused 14-day pass that has not started, a verified major product problem that prevents use, or a case required by law. Any partial refund requires individual review.

What is the older Basic plan?

The older Basic plan costs $15 per month. Eligible existing subscribers keep that price while the same subscription continues, but the plan is not available for new purchases.

Local data and privacy

What happens to local files after expiry?

When access expires or is canceled, AnnoBoost does not automatically delete images, labels, datasets, models, or exported files stored on your PC.

What usage information is sent?

Required operational reporting is limited to information needed to provide the service and identify problems that stop the app from working, and is sent only when the production setting enables it. Optional product analytics is off by default and requires your consent. Source images, labels, datasets, models, and secrets are not included.

When you need help

How are diagnostics submitted?

First create a private support request. In the AnnoBoost diagnostics screen, review which items will be included and check the privacy-filtered preview, then choose to upload. Diagnostic reports are never attached to the public board.

What if I cannot sign in?

Try the password reset page first. If you still cannot sign in, use the email address for sign-in problems shown on the public Support page.
